In 2004 Perigeum Development, Inc. established its roots in the bicycle industry by offering engineering and product development services to many of the industry's top players. In 2005, Perigeum was approached by Formula Srl to lead a new US branding effort for the Italian disc brake manufacturer. Today, Formula is one of the leading disc brakes on the market and Perigeum continues to play a major role in sales and service.
In 2008, the founders of Perigeum decided to converge its engineering, sales, and marketing experience by starting The Hive. Since then, The Hive has become recognized for offering innovative solutions to problems other component makers fail to address. Other big news from The Hive came in June 2010 when the announcement of the merger with downhill chain retention powerhouse e*thirteen. With e*thirteen as its mountain bike category, The Hive has become an top industry performer in crankset and chainguide categories. Perigeum is the distribution and service center in the United States for The Hive.
